Solitary Bee Hotel - Help the Pollinators in Your Yard
Invite the bees to pollinate the flowers in your yard and give them a place to nest and hatch.
Solitary bees use these block wood bee hotels, or houses. It makes the perfect shelter for a mason bee, green sweat bee or even a leaf-cutter bee. Most bees in the mason bee family will take up habitat in this block of wood that has just the right size hole drilled for laying eggs and building nests.
You will be surprised to see the tubes get filled quickly with provisions for each and sealing with mud. The cocoon will overwinter right in that spot and emerge next spring.
Plant some flowers and give the bees some shelter!
Each Bee Hotel comes with a black sharpie so you can finish the details at home. Each tunnel should be lined with a piece of rolled up (copy) paper and outlined with the black sharpie. Doing this will provide some nesting material and offer a darker spot, as they prefer.
There is a d ring attached to the back for hanging.
